 BARANGAY CHAIRMAN BENITO GONZALES CAGUIOA

Devoted Father, Husband, Grandparent, and Public Servant

Benito Gonzales Caguioa, 86, born on April 10, 1937, in Tarlac, Philippines, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024. He resided in Buena Park, CA and was comforted by the rest of his family at the time of his passing. Benito served as a Philippine Police before becoming a Barangay Chairman. He was a Public Servant in the Philippines for 20 years under Marcos and Cory Administration from 1971 to 1991. In the year of 1990, he was recognized and awarded a plaque of Recognition from Lions International Dist. 301-A1 Governor Lawyer Justo Ortiz for an “Outstanding Barangay Chairmen of Manila.” He was always known by his FAIR and JUST judgement. Always known how to problem solve any stressful situation at his District because it was in his blood to serve his Filipino people and he knew to serve it UNDER GOD.

Even after all the chaos in being a devoted Public Servant in his District, Benito was also a devoted Husband and Father to his surviving Wife and Children; Rosario Caguioa (Wife) | Barok Caguioa | Maria Ana | Rolando Caguioa | Maria Violanda Delgado | Maria Teodora Virgino | Dionisio Caguioa. He also survives 16 Grandchildren; Archie Caguioa | Amery Caguioa | Kristian Marie Sapida | Klariza Marie Maranon | Absacob Maranon | Christian James Caguioa | Ryan Caguioa | Chris Michael Caguioa | Kristina Lynn Caguioa | Patrick Delgado | Byron Delgado | Lheanna Mae Virgino| Lhea Mae Virgino | Leonard Marc Virgino | Kailee Caguioa | Kenzo Casipit. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Benito had a passion of fixing broken junk things and turns it into a whole a new things. He always saw an art on everything he sees and touch. If you knew Benito, you were always greeted with the widest contagious smile and was always throwing words of wisdom on any situation and don’t forget how he can be a comedian with his humor. He was always a full of light and never judged anybody. When he was still alive, he would always remind his family that he had lived a full great life and that when the time comes that he had to come back home, he wanted to make sure the family knows how to also live a life that is full just like his. One of his favorite hobby was to sing with his Wife and Benito’s favorite song to sing was “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. He related to that song so much that every kareoke gathering with the family, that was always the song he would sing. He was always lending a helping hand even if you were a stranger. He was so loved by many and the people that knew him, respected him not because of his title back then but because he was simply a thoughtful and caring person. He touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life.

He will be so missed by his family and friends. His family find peace knowing that he is not in pain and suffering anymore. They find comfort in knowing that he is back home where he belongs, and that his legacy will live on within the family.

Always know that no matter how much or ways Tatay Benito have touched your lives, he loves you all so much. On behalf of the rest of the Caguioa Family, we are so grateful and thankful for everyone’s thoughtful condolences and reaching out to the family in this difficult time of our TATAY BENITO’s passing as we are never prepared when a loved one is called back home. We hope to see you all in Celebrating TATAY BENITO’s celebration of life that he had fully lived.
