Beatrice Raigosa ("Bea") Jimenez, 92, was born on January 27, 1925, in El Paso, Texas, and passed away August 11, 2017, peacefully at her home in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of Vidal Alvarez Raigosa (est. 1891-1951) and Ynez Gradados (est. 1891-1960), she is survived by her four children, Augustin Raigosa Jimenez, Dianne Raigosa Jimenez, Cynthia Maria Jimenez, and Lawrence Raigosa Jimenez, as well as several loving grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, among others. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Augustin Delgadillo Jimenez (March 27, 1925-January 5, 2013).
As a young woman, Bea was a natural physical beauty. That beauty carried so seamlessly into her later years as she matured into a lovely mom of four all of whom became college students and graduates thanks to Bea's high regard for educational attainment.
Bea was a doting mom on her four children, assuring always that they were well groomed, attired in freshly pressed clothes, and â given her devotion and belief in the power of God to love and protect â always "blessed" by her whenever they left home for school and other outings.
Bea was deeply intelligent and a prolific reader of books. Novels, biographies, autobiographies, histories, and daily news were her favorites. Always a critical thinker, she relished with great emotion and intensity, arguing her perspectives and opinions about politics, celebrities, music, and any other topics about which one would dare to challenge her.
Bea often told the story of her impoverished upbringing with her 15 siblings. She marveled that her parents, on Christmas, could give her and each of her siblings an orange to celebrate the holiday. As a result, she did all she could to lavish her children with wonderful gifts to celebrate every Christmas, Easters, all birthdays, etc. Growing up poor rendered her eager to give as much as she could afford to those she loved.
Services were held on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Forest Lawn cemetery in Cypress, California, where she was laid to rest with her husband to be at peace for eternity.
