With heavy hearts, we honor the life and legacy of Basiliza “Liza” Abadilla, whose heart had touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and love. Liza was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who went to be home with the Lord on February 6, 2025. Liza was born to Elisea Brugada and Felix Alcantara on January 8, 1964. Liza grew up in San Pablo, Laguna with five sisters, Flora, Lina, Louie, Rita, and Verda, and one brother, Juan “Aboy”. In the Philippines, Liza and her family enjoyed several memories together of walking around the Laguna lakes, singing and caroling together, and sharing many delicious meals. Liza studied nursing in San Pablo College. She later moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and worked as a nurse at Solheim Senior Community. She met her husband, Emmanuel “Manny” Abadilla, in 1992 after being introduced to each other by a close relative. Liza and Manny married on April 21, 1993 and had two daughters, Hannah and Emmalee. Liza dedicated her life towards raising her daughters and supporting her husband’s endeavors as a pastor. She was an active member in the body of Christ, described as a prayer warrior by many and led bible studies to build up women in Christ. Liza will dearly be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, delicious cooking, and faithful heart for the Lord. Though Liza bravely faced several challenges in her two-year battle against cancer, her heart always looked to Christ for comfort and hope. Liza leaves behind her husband, two daughters, and grandson. Though our hearts are grieved, we are comforted knowing she now experiences perfect peace in the Lord.
