Plaistow, NH: Barbara L. (Kerr) O'Connor, 86, a resident of Plaistow for forty-one years and a former resident of Warminster, PA from 1965 to 1974, died on February 10, 2016 with her family by her side in Chester, NH.
Born on June 20, 1929 in Lawrence, MA, and raised in Methuen, daughter of the late Andrew W. and Cora D. (Milton) Kerr, she graduated from Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen with the Class of 1946. She went on to attend the McIntosh Medical Secretarial School and worked as an Administrative Assistance for many years.
A member of Atkinson Congregational Church, Mrs. O'Connor served on the Mission Committee and as a Past Deacon and also volunteered for special event dinners. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Dastardly Domino Dames, a group of women who gathered at each other's homes for lively domino matches. An avid reader, Mrs. O'Connor enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, and cooking for her family.
She was predeceased by her husband John J. O'Connor in 1999 and her son Brian K. O'Connor, and is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Nancy O'Connor of Flemington, NJ, and David A. and Lisa O'Connor of Wells, ME, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan B. and Kenneth Gagne of Chester, NH, seven grandchildren, Christine O'Connor, Brian O'Connor, Colleen O'Connor, John O'Connor, Scott O'Connor, Matthew Marcotte, and Brittany Gagne, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Kerr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. O'Connor's Life Celebration on Monday, February 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Atkinson Congregational Church, 101 Main Street, Atkinson, NH followed by Reception in Lovejoy Hall.
