Barbara L. (middleston) Muise

Haverhill, MA: Barbara L. (Middleston) Muise, 83, a resident of Haverhill since 1995 and a former longtime resident of Methuen, MA from 1961 to 1995, died on June 14, 2015 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Born in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Neal and Roseanna (Christian) Middleston, Mrs. Muise was raised and educated in Nashua, NH. She graduated from Nashua High School with the Class of 1950 and went on to attend Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her Registered Nurse Certification in 1955. She later attended Riviere College.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse, first at Holy Family Hospital and the former Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen for thirty-nine years, and later at Town Manor, Hannah Dustin Nursing Home, Broadway Nursing Home, and Merrimack Valley V.N.A.

A member of St. Lucy Parish in Methuen, Mrs. Muise was also a member of the Methuen Ranger's Association and the Howe School Parent Teacher Association.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Muise enjoyed dancing, traveling, sewing, and baking. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and the occasional trip to Foxwoods Casino.

She was predeceased by her husband, J. Raymond Muise, who died in 1980, and is survived by four sons, David J. Muise of Methuen, John E. Muise and his wife Christine of Londonderry, NH, Robert J. Muise and his wife Christine of Superior Township, Michigan, and Gary R. Muise of Sedona, Arizona, seventeen grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Muise, Erica Hodgeson, Sarah Mishler, Katie, Elizabeth, Mary, Therese, Anna, Margaret, Natalie, Clare, John R., and James M. Muise, Hannah and Brian Muise, and Jake Mullin, and four great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her longtime companion, Rudolphe "Rudy" Custeau, and her brother, Neal Middleston.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Muise's Life Celebration on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Lucy Church, Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
