Barbara Lois Fuller

January 31, 1924 — March 18, 2017

Barbara (Patterson) Fuller, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., March 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. This sophisticated and polished woman exuded warmth and beauty throughout her life. As an interior designer in New York, Barbara's flair for French provincial furniture and regal table décor were impeccable. She loved teaching her children and grandchildren the art of setting a beautiful table and entertaining with style. Above all, she loved her son Jimmy and his wife Tracey along with their two daughters Amy and Stephanie. Her beloved Bert, with whom Barbara was married for 57 years, passed away in 2003. Last November, Barbara was proud to have attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Stephanie to Lewis Kopenhafer, and was looking forward to the coming nuptials of her granddaughter Amy to Jason Tew in October. A fourth-generation San Franciscan, Barbara was intensely proud of her lineage. She graduated from Lowell High School and attended the University of Oregon. In 1943, she met her future husband, Bertram Fuller in Lake Tahoe, they were married in 1946. During their marriage, they resided in New York, N.Y., San Francisco, Calif., and Rancho Mirage. Barbara enjoyed an active social life as a member of Inwood, Mission Hills, and Tamarisk Country Clubs. A beautiful woman with a wonderful smile, her extensive number of friendships was legendary. She had that rare ability to make everyone she met feel special. Barbara loved to discuss current events, politics, theatre, art, and her favorite books. A treasured woman; we will truly miss her. Barbara is to be interned next to her beloved Bert in a private graveside service at the Palm Springs Cemetery in Palm Springs. Donations in memory of Barbara Fuller can be made to 'The Judy Fund' at The Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 115, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Cathedral City
