Barbara Marie Davis was born on March 6, 1940 in Hollywood, Maryland to Zack Wintres Stevens and Barbara Evelyn Fenwick Stevens. She was the 7th out of 10 children! As an adolescent, Barbara attended Hollywood elementary school and graduated from Banneker high school of Loveville Maryland. Soon after graduation she met and married John Frazier Davis Sr. As a result of this beautiful union, the couple had four children: John Frazier Davis Jr., Stephanie Davis, Michael Davis and Theresa Davis. For over 20 Years Barbara worked for GTE (General Telephone Company) as a phone operator in Long Beach California where she honorably retired from. Once successfully transitioned into retirement, Barbara dedicated her time and tithes as a Sunday school teacher at New Hope Baptist Church of Long Beach, Ca. and served as Head director of "The Angel Tree project" where people from all over the country would donate toys and food to children and families in need during the special holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. In 2013, Barbara attended Abundant Living Church Bible College of Rancho Cucamonga where she received multiple awards including an advanced diploma in Biblical studies, which she later completed up to her Bachelors.
Barbara passed away October 29, 2017 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. She resided in Fontana, California at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Agnes Lenora Jackson. 5 brothers Joseph Wintres Stevens, Charles Sylvester Stevens, Francis Phillip Stevens, James Richard Stevens and Michael Xavier Stevens. She is survived by her four children: John, Stephanie, Micheal, and Theresa Davis. Grandchildren: Titan Davis, Christopher Fuller, and Ashley Richards. Great-grandchildren: Titin Davis Jr., JaSoni Davis, Tykee Davis and Carmen Fuller. Two sisters: Mary E. Green (Betty) of Lynwood Ca. & Teresa Watkins of Norfolk Virginia., 1 brother: John Emory Stevens of Mechanicsville, MD. Four Sister-in-laws: Sylvia Stevens, Doris Stevens, Cathy Stevens, Lillian Stevens and a host of nieces and nephews along with a multitude of colleges and associates. Barbara will ALWAYS be remembered as a sweet and gracious loving being who was always in spirit of true human kindness. May Her Spirit REST IN HEAVEN! AMEN!
