Austin Odon Wampler, born on October 9, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, left us for his final resting place with the Lord on June 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with renal cell carcinoma. He faced the challenges of his illness with unwavering positivity and an infectious smile that inspired all those around him. Austin's zest for life was palpable; he lived each day to its fullest, leaving a remarkable legacy for those fortunate enough to have known him.
Austin dedicated 16 years of his life to serving combat veterans and their families at the San Bernardino Vet Center. With an impressive record of completing over 15,000 therapy sessions, he committed himself wholeheartedly to providing support and hope to those who needed it most. Recognized for his professionalism, Austin earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from Loma Linda University, graduating Cum Laude and receiving the esteemed professionalism award. He became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2021, further solidifying his deep commitment to helping others.
In addition to his professional achievements, Austin proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he provided base and combat security during two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He approached his military service with dedication and valor, embodying the qualities of bravery and strength he instilled in his family.
Those who knew Austin will fondly remember his adventurous spirit. He had a profound love for the outdoors, particularly places where he could go fast, whether that was on motorcycles, off-road cars, boats, or jetskis. He cherished every moment spent at the lake and the desert, often creating cherished memories with his beloved family. Austin’s personality shone through as funny, likeable, kind, and generous – traits that endeared him to so many.
Austin’s greatest pride came from being a devoted husband to his wife, Jacquelyn Wampler, and a loving father to their children, Benjamin, Graham, and Austyn. He constantly encouraged them to be tough and brave, just like him, ensuring they felt his enduring love and support throughout their lives. Together, they forged unforgettable memories that will resonate in their hearts forever.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Jacquelyn; his children, Benjamin, Graham, and Austyn; his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth; his sister, Tiffany; and his brothers, Garrett and Galen. They will carry on his spirit with the same kindness and vivacity that he shared so generously with the world.
Austin leaves behind cherished memories not only for his immediate family but for the countless friends and colleagues who were touched by his passion for life and his unwavering support. His grandparents, Odon and Illuminada Nabong, as well as Jack and Gail Keenan, precede him in death.
The legacy of Austin Wampler will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who had the honor and privilege to know him. A celebration of his life will take place in two parts: a Funeral Service at the Church of our Heritage at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills on July 2, 2025, and another at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church on July 3, 2025. May he rest in peace, knowing the light of his life has forever brightened our own. #ADUBSTRONG forever
