Aurora Vicente Sado, 91, of Los Angeles, California, died Monday, May 30, 2016.
She was born to Simeon Nacanilao and Felisa Dizon Vicente, February 23, 1925, in Pasay City, Philippines.
Aurora attended elementary school at Ermita Catholic School in Metro Manila, Philippines and graduated in 1936. She also attended high school at Ermita Catholic School and graduated in 1940. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Cosmopolitan College in the Philippines in 1952, and was a teacher by profession.
Aurora was an elementary school teacher in the Philippines for 20 years. She was passionate about education and making a difference in others' lives, especially children.
She married Carl Saculpao Sado (deceased July 1984) on August 17, 1971 the Philippines, and immigrated to the United States one year later in 1972. They lived together in Los Angeles, California, ever since.
However, upon immigration to the US, Aurora had a change in career and worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Olympia Convalescent Hospital in Los Angeles, California dedicating over 23 years of service. She devoted her life to care for the sick & elderly.
As generations of nieces, nephews, grandnieces & nephews, and great grandnieces & nephews grew, Aurora continued her passion of teaching by educating them, whether it was by helping them with homework, but most important, how to know & love God. In her youth, she had a love & desire for art and drawing. She was an avid reader, and had an impeccable memory for names, dates, family relations, birthdays, and anniversaries. Even in her later years, she was knowledgeable of local & world news, including sports.
She is survived by her siblings: Bienvenido Dizon Vicente (deceased), Consolacion "Connie" Vicente Soriano, Zenaida Dizon Vicente (deceased), Elvira "Elvie" Vicente Cruz, Flordeliza "Dading" Vicente Aguinaldo, Genevie "Emmy" Vicente Sado, Hernando Dizon Vicente (deceased), Inocencio Dizon Vicente (deceased), Joselito Dizon Vicente (deceased), Katherine "Rosemarie" Dizon Vicente, Lolita "Lulu" Vicente Ramos, their families, generations of nieces & nephews, grandnieces & nephews, great grandnieces & nephews, their families, and a wealth of extended family & friends.
An all-day viewing will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Glendale Forest Lawn's Mortuary in Glendale, California. A memorial service will also take place on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Glendale Forest Lawn's Wee Kirk O' the Heather Church. Aurora will then be laid to rest next to her husband, Carl at the Triumphant Terrace: Terrace of the Day Break in Glendale, California.
