With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Aurelia Gonzalez Mata, on May 20, 2026.
Aurelia was born in October 1939 in Durango, Galeana, Mexico. She made her home in California, where she spent most of her life and lovingly raised her family. Her life was a testament to perseverance, faith, and compassion.
She never hesitated to help those in need and instilled in her children the importance of kindness, generosity, and keeping Christ at the center of their lives. A devoted Catholic, she found joy in the simple yet most meaningful blessings of life, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sharing laughter, creating memories, and celebrating the love of family.
She touched countless lives through her warmth, strength, and caring spirit. Those who knew her will remember her unwavering faith and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. As we remember our mother, we will continue to honor her memory through acts of kindness and compassion, carrying forward the values she taught us and cherishing the many joyful moments we shared with her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, faith, kindness, strength, and selflessness that will continue to inspire generations to come.
May she rest in eternal peace.
