Aurelia Garma Cayetano

December 2, 1932 — June 25, 2022

Aurelia "Leah" Garma Cayetano, met her Creator, peacefully, comfortably, and surrounded by her family at her proud home in Lakewood, California on June 25, 2022 at age 89. She battled against several age-related ailments particularly heart disease and dementia. She lived and overcame several health struggles and fought back with grace and dignity.

She survived by her loving children: Guia (Jesse) Delgado, Edades (Noralyn) Cayetano, and Buena (Thomas) Wendt.
Grandchildren: Jessie, Jason (Carmilen), Alyssa (Erick), Jane (Jeremiah), Chenine (Joseph), Edalyn, Eryn, Ethan, and Dylan.
Great grand-children: Jaxson, Ziggy, Mylo, Jonie, Samantha, Jameson, Caleb, Carlie, Jeremiah, Layla, Adan.

Aurelia was born on December 2, 1932 in Mayantoc, Tarlac in the Philippines. She had a Doctorate Degree in College of Dentistry at Centro Escolar University in March of 1954. She practiced as a dentist for years in the Philippines prior to establishing citizenship in the United States in the 1970's. She continued her occupation with a different health profession in the US, working for UCLA Harbor General Medical Hospital for 20 plus years.

Some of her favorite pass times were with her best friend, Nolita "Sexy". They go to Las Vegas, gamble and shop name brand bags and clothing with their winnings.

Her daily routine was to tend to her garden as well as maintaining the fish pond with her husband, Edgardo. She loved caring for her orchids and plumerias.

Her most favorite thing to do was to go out anywhere (pashal-pashal) and be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren when possible. Having meals and hanging out with the family were always the center piece of her life.

She was known for her hospitality in her home and made sure that everyone was fed. She would always say "kain na", means let's eat. She would be insistent until you eat.

Having strong relationships with family and friends were what she cherished the most and attended to their needs before her own and wanted nothing in return. She would give anything, big or small, to those needed it the most. The epitome of a mom.
