Arthur A. White, 97, passed away in his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on June 7, 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Josephine White Campellone. He was predeceased by his wife, Beth, who was the love of his life for 55 years, and his adopted daughter, Bobbye McPherson, as well as three brothers and three sisters. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Robyn Murphy and Terye Watson; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, Edward Campellone; and nephews and nieces. He was born in Lead, S.D. in 1917, came to California in 1940, and after serving in the U.S. Navy went to work for North American Aviation, where he met his wife. He became a lead design engineer, which he loved. He had many inventions and received ten patents while in aerospace and designed and integral part of the space shuttle Orbiter. After retiring in 1979, he gradually became involved in water conservation and spent over 25 years writing and refining a system to recycle waste to produce potable water, which he finalized and called it Six Counties Water Solution. He was a generous man who loved his family and friends. He quietly gave to numerous charities and other individuals who he felt were in need. Funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert on Wednesday, June17, 2015 at 10:00 am, followed by interment at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, Calif.
