Epping, NH: Arthur S. "Artie" Bourdelais, 67, formerly of Plaistow and a resident of Epping since 2002, died suddenly on December 7, 2015 of natural causes.
Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Arthur and Eleanor (DeRoche) Bourdelais, he attended Lawrence Public Schools and graduated from Haverhill Trade School with the Class of 1966.
At the beginning of his work career, he was the co-owner and operator of Hillside Excavating and was later employed as a machinist at Babco Inc. For the past twenty years Artie enjoyed his work as a supervisor at Busby Construction.
Artie loved getting his hands dirty and was the "go to guy" when it came to all things mechanical. An avid Bruins fan, he was a well- loved and longtime coach of Sanborn Youth Hockey. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a mechanic for local Super Modified Race Car drivers. He was totally devoted to his two grandchildren and enjoyed playing golf. He most recently won the championship playing horseshoes against his local buddies and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Jill D. (Harriman) Bourdelais, a daughter, Dorean Bourdelais of Newton, NH, two grandchildren, Austin and Jade Fisher, seven sisters, Beverley Viglione and her husband Raymond of East Kingston, NH, Eleanor Davison of Palm Coast, FL, Kathleen Hoelzel and her husband David of Raymond, NH, Virginia Bradshaw and her husband John of Acton, ME, Pamela Pryor and her husband Ronald, of Statesville, NC, Brenda Davulis and her husband James of Kingston, NH, and Sheila Tobin and her husband Robert of Haverhill, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, John W. Bourdelais, and his sister, Gayle Hogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Artie's Life Celebration on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Union Cemetery, Newton. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
