Hampstead, NH: Arthur A. Berube, 73, a former longtime resident of Hampstead, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.

Born and raised in Methuen, MA, son of the late Alcide Berube and Sylvia (Guy) (Berube) Lavigne, he attended St. Theresa Grammar School and was a member of the Lawrence Central Catholic High School Class of 1956. He attended the Marist Brothers Novitiate in Esopus, NY and continued to further his education throughout his life.

An inventor and entrepreneur, and highly accomplished technology executive and engineer, he was the holder of over fifty patents and was presently serving as the President and CEO of Phonologics. From 2004 until 2010 he served as the Vice President and CTO of Black-I Robotics and prior to that as the Vice President of Technology for Telepharmacy Solutions,Inc. He was also the founder and former CEO of L-CAD and has been active in the transportation and pharmaceutical industries.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, motorcycling, and snowmobiling and was a member of the Pittsburgh NH Ridgerunners Club and the Country Pond Fish and Game Club. He also was a ham radio operator using call sign W1GEF.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian A. and Susan Berube of Dover, MA, and Michael T. and Karen Berube of Marietta, GA, three brothers, Guy Berube of Methuen, MA, Raymond P. Berube of Alexandria, VA and Robert J. Berube of Methuen, MA, a sister Louise M. Berube of Kingston, NH, his former wife, Rosemary (Contarino) Berube of Hampstead, grandchildren, Emma, Sam, Matthew, Zachary, Ella and Owen, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 1, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne’s Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s -Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, Speen St., Framingham, MA.
