Arnie Abijero Jose

Arnie Jose, a long-time resident of Southern California, passed away on December 26th, 2020, at the age of 63. He was predeceased by his late wife Chona Uy. Born in Laoag City, Philippines, he was the eldest of the late Fausto Cruz Jose and Milagros Abijero Aradanas' children.


Arnie enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 18 and rose to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant before he was honorably discharged. He returned to civilian life and eventually settled in Fontana, CA with his family. He is survived by his three daughters Samantha, Alexandra, and Cassandra; and four younger siblings Sygrid, Cheryl, Bersie, and Bobby.


Arnie was an avid collector of comic books and graphic novels, to the delight of his daughters who have many fond memories of reading them together. He also dabbled in numismatics and philately. Arnie was also a devoted and active member of his church community.


Arnie was a gentle and optimistic man, always ready to offer a word of support or encouragement. He will be sorely missed by his treasured friends and family.


Due to the current health pandemic and out of concern for everyone's safety, his memorial service will be held virtually on Saturday, January 23rd at 5pm, and his burial will be held privately.
