It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Armando Casillan, affectionately known as "Manding," who departed this world on November 9, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on February 21, 1956, in Baguio City, Philippines, Armando was a beacon of warmth and kindness, whose spirit touched the lives of many.
Armando was not only a loving husband to his devoted wife, Grace Elizaga-Casillan, but also a proud father to his two sons, Christian Casillan and Chad Casillan. He welcomed his daughters-in-law, Ashley and Karina, into his family with open arms, embracing them as his own. As a grandfather, he took immense joy in the laughter and antics of his grandchildren—Cameron, Carson, Avery, and Quinn—who brought countless smiles to his face.
His presence was characterized by an unwavering supportiveness and a welcoming spirit. Armando was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word, embodying the essence of what it meant to be a family defender. Friends and family alike would fondly recall the moments spent with him, particularly those frivolous gatherings where he would often be found handing out shots, ensuring that laughter and camaraderie filled the air.
Beyond family ties, he had a zest for life that included a love for travel and playing in the casino, a passion that brought a sense of adventure to his everyday life. His vibrant personality was not only friendly and inviting but also deeply rooted in his Christian faith, which guided him throughout his journey on this earth.
As we celebrate Armando's life, let us remember the fond memories of securing him as a steady pillar of strength, the laughter he shared, and the love he so freely gave. The visitation will take place on December 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Hope Chapel. His funeral service will follow on December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Patriots Chapel.
In our hearts, the legacy of Manding will live on, inspiring us to cherish family, embrace friendships, and continue the love he instilled in all of us. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he left behind.
