Arizona Elizabeth Jackson was born January 22, 1937 to John and Essie McDermott. Together they had six children, Arizona was the second child. She later attended Douglas School. She had three lovely boys, Gregory, Anthony and Charles. Arizona and her children moved to California in 1969. Her husband of twenty years was Matthew Jackson who is now deceased along with her brother, John McDermott and two sisters, Renda Jackson and Wanda Frye. Arizona was a nurse and a housewife. She loved helping everyone. She also loved cooking and shopping. Arizona moved to Apple Valley in 2011 with her son Greg and his wife Janice, who became shopping buddies. She attended church at Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, under the Pastor Sup. Robert C. Graham, they also fell in love with her. In Apple Valley, she had more grandchildren and more family. She was happy to be with those who loved and cared for her. Always moving with the speed of lightning, with a smile, Arizona was always ready to go where ever. She is survived by her three sons, Gregory McDermott, Anthony McDermott and Charles Mauex, two sisters, Joanne Hatcher and Sammie Francis, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and a host of loving friends who will miss her dearly.
