Araksi Benneian, born on February 25, 1928, in Jerusalem, Palestine, left us on February 2, 2024, God willing, to be in eternal peace with the Lord. At almost 96 years of age, she succumbed to complications of old age.
Araksi was a devoted wife and mother raising five children, Joseph, Mary, Vicken, Mike and Hermine. She is survived by her five children and six grandchildren (Anthony, Derek, Jonathan, Travis, Taylor and Natalie). She and her late husband, Garabed Benneian, left Jerusalem in 1948 and settled in Amman, Jordan, for 22 years before immigrating to the USA to join her late brother and sister, Dicran Merguerian and Horop Kaplanian.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, on Friday, March 1, 2024, in the Old North Church at 12:00 PM.
