April R. Nunnally

April Rhyne Nunnally, 65, passed away April 17, 2012, in Long Beach after a long battle with cancer. She resided in Lakewood, California at the time of her passing. She was born on May 7, 1946, in Riverside, California, to Fred and Dagmar (Baruzzi) Rhyne. She grew up in El Centro, California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a degree in Nutritional Science. She married Ronald Nunnally on September 20, 1969 in Los Angeles. Together they raised nine children at their family home in Lakewood. April was active in the Stephen Foster Elementary School PTA and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her major interests included homemaking, family history, sewing, gardening, music, and learning. She served in various teaching and leadership roles with her Church organizations for women, youth, and children. She is survived by her mother, Dagmar Rhyne; brother, Fred Rhyne III; husband, Ron Nunnally; children Paul Nunnally, Susan Gilles, Karen Madsen, Gregory Nunnally, Amy Walthall, Julie Rentz, Andrew Nunnally, Eric Nunnally, and Lori Nunnally; and 23 grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
