April Vanessa Lincoln was born on March 17th, 1981 in Panorama City, California. She was the first child born from her parents, Patsy and Andrew Lincoln. She born blessed with three older siblings, Christopher, Ingrid, and Kiersten. They would soon be joined by a younger brother, Ryan Lincoln, a few years later.
From a young age April exhibited an infectious energy that persisted throughout her entire life. She would often be found singing, dancing, or acting out some random scene from whatever Spanish-language soap opera she had come across. This usually resulted in reluctant participation from her nephew, Brandon, who is only three years her junior. The two of them spent countless hours recording and acting out imaginative mini-plays, before riding their bikes up and down the block until the streetlights came on. Then they’d beg any adult to rent them Pippi Longstocking or a random horror movies so they could eat popcorn and scare each other all night. They fought constantly, but always begged for more time when one of them had to leave.
April was firecly dedicated to her family and loved spending time with each of them. Her mother worked nights, but whenever she was awake you would find April curled up next to her on the bed watching “As the World Turns”. Good luck to anyone trying to join them. April made it clear that this was “her mommy” and the rest of you could go ahead and clear out. This applied to everyone - siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles. The only exception to this, was her little brother Ryan. She teased her brother incessantly but was always ready to read him a bedtime story.
April was also a Daddy’s girl! She would spend hours with her father, watching him cook and talking to him about whatever was going on in her world. That relationship continued even into adulthood and made some of her fondest memories. Dad’s cooking was unmatched in her eyes. You could pay any of the top chefs in the world to come to her home, fix their signature meal that had earned them accolades across continents, and she would still take one bite and say, “It’s good, but...not as good as my Daddy’s!”
As a teenager, April attended San Fernando Valley Academy High School, where she met Cecy and the two quickly became friends. Soon the duo became inseparable and spent innumerable hours together hanging out and sharing secrets. Eventually this blossomed to the point that Cecy became another member of the family, and was one of the few people allowed inside the house. Many friends came and went over the years, but their bond has never diminished.
April loved going to school as a child. She would often come home excited to share everything she learned , and boast at how exceptionally she performed. This passion for learning would spur on her decision to become an educator. She particularly wanted to teach grades K-5 in order to foster the same joy for learning her teachers had instilled in her. She was able to achieve that dream when she graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Masters Degree in Education. At the time of her passing, she taught at North Valley Christian School in North Hills, CA. Being an educator brought her tremendous joy, and she would often refer to her students as “my babies.” Her love was felt and reciprocated, as many of her former students would often run up to hug or present her with hand-drawn cards and gifts.
Of course, someone so vibrant and filled with love would eventually meet someone who could be there to cherish and recharge her. One day, while scrolling through an online dating site, April came across a picture of a man holding The Action Bible (a comic book retelling of the holy scriptures). Intrigued, she sent him a private message. This man was Jimmy Daniels, and for their first date he scored some major points by taking April to El Torito Resturant, which happened to be one of her favorite places to eat. She would often comment on how much he made her laugh and how special she felt when she was around him. Eventually, Jimmy would propose, and the couple would get married on Februrary 23rd 2019.
On January 30th 2025 at 9:25pm, April Lincoln passed away due to complications from a stroke.
