Antonio Muñoz Jr.

March 7, 1956 — February 5, 2025

Alta Loma

Antonio Munoz Jr., fondly known as Tony, was born March 7, 1956 in Corona, California to Camarina (Mary) and Antonio (Tony Sr.) Munoz. He was raised in Alta Loma and played Pop Warner baseball growing up. He attended Alta Loma High School and continued to play baseball and football. After graduating from Alta Loma High School in 1974 he went on to attend Pitzer College in Claremont, California where he majored in Psychology and graduated from Pitzer College in 1978.

Not long after graduating from Pitzer, Tony pursued his Juris Doctorate at Western State University in Fullerton, California and graduated in 1982. Shortly after graduating from Western State University, he was married to Birdie Leon who he met while both attending the Claremont Colleges. Tony and Birdie welcomed their first daughter, Mercedes in 1982 and ten years later their second daughter, Sofia in 1992.

Tony went on to build his career and work for Lockheed of Ontario as the Director of Contracts, and later took a position at Aerojet in Folsom, California working with the company from 1994-2000. During this time, he passed the State Bar of California Exam and proudly became an attorney on December 13, 1993.

After his tenure at Aerojet, Tony returned to his true passion and resumed practicing law. He opened his own practice in Los Angeles specializing in Business Law. Over the years, he worked to grow his practice, forging strong relationships and providing legal assistance across various fields of business law to help others. Known for his natural ability to connect with many, his practice expanded to two locations, serving both East Los Angeles and Colton, CA. In his later years, he would use his expertise as a legal consultant to others.

While Tony enjoyed his work, he loved his family and friends even more. His infectious laughter made him the best company and his smile brightened each moment in his presence.

He was the best girl dad and celebrated every milestone with his daughters from recitals and plays, to shopping for the perfect prom dress; he was present for everything and made it known daily how much he loved his girls.

When his granddaughters were born he took on the role of grandfather with such pride and joy. He enjoyed spending time with them and adored his new title as Grandpa. He spoiled his grandchildren with love, surprises and happily joined them to play tea.

After a long battle with diabetes and various health complications, Tony passed on February 5th, 2025 at the age of 68.

Tony is survived by his daughters, Mercedes Chatfield and Sofia Munoz, his two grandchildren, Olivia and Isabella Chatfield, his siblings Tom Munoz and Terry Cardenas, and his mother Mary Munoz. He was preceded in death by his father Tony Munoz Sr. and brother Mike Munoz.
