Antonio "Tony" Belmaggio, born April 27, 1935 passed peacefully at his home in Rancho Mirage, CA on December 29, 2019. He was surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Tony was born to Carlo and Maddelena Belmaggio in Collelongo, Italy. It was there he grew up and began career as a Master Tailor. At the age of 15 he fell in love with his beautiful wife Brigida Salucci and they married on March 3, 1957. They shared five beautiful daughters and were married for 49 years.Tony left Collelongo for America in August 1957 at the age of 21 and Brigida joined him several months later. They lived in Warren, Ohio where they both worked as dishwashers at his uncle's restaurant. In 1958 Tony began his career as a tailor for Lord Chesterfields in Warren, Ohio. From there he started his journey to California where he continued to work in the fashion industry under many important people. In 1967 Tony became the manager of Monty Factors in Beverly Hills. Tony moved Brigit and his daughter's Carla, Tina, Dora and Tonia to rancho Mirage in 1976 where he and Brigida started Belmaggio Fashion on El Paseo. They were known for Brioni Suits, Tony's Custom Suits and Brigida's Custom Knit Dresses. Tony's clientele ranged from locals to Presidents of the United States of America. In 1980 they opened their second location in Desert Horizons Country Club.
In 1990 Tony and Brigida opened their final landmark shop next door to Keedy's in Palm Desert where you could always find him enjoying breakfast or lunch with the many friends that would stop by. Tony became a US Citizen in 1992, something he was extremely proud of. He loved to travel to his home town of Collelongo every summer where he would spend time with his friends and family and enjoy the any festivals of his home town. One of Tony's proudest accomplishments was raising money to rebuild the Church of San Rocco in Collelongo. This took two years of hard work and dedication at which time he lost his wife Brigida. He also set up an annual bocce tournament in honor of her memory. In November 2017 Tony was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He fought hard and outlived the expectations of his doctors. Tony's personality was larger than life itself. He was admired and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He is proceeded in death by his wife Brigida, his infant daughter Brigida, and his parents Carlo and Maddelena Belmaggio.
He is survived by his four daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren:

His grand pets King, Rex and Chip.
Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert on Monday January 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM and arrangements will be handled by Forest Lawn Mortuary. Reception following services at Keedys Palm Desert.
Burial Services will take place in Collelongo, Italy.
