Prospero Antonio "Abuelito" Acevedo, 80, born on February 12, 1939, in Medellin, Colombia, passed away December 17, 2019. He resided in Ontario, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, California.
Abuelito was born in Medellin, Colombia where he lived until he moved to California with his wife, Beatriz, and two children, Angela Maria and Juan Carlos. Abuelito was a math teacher for over 25 years, teaching algebra, geometry and trigonometry. He was a loving father and husband and loved being with his family, especially with his two grandchildren. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with his great sense of humor. His hobbies included reading poems, looking up new words in the dictionary, being with his family, eating and cooking traditional Colombian food. Abuelito is survived by six sisters, several nieces and nephews, his two adult children, Juan Carlos Acevedo and Angela Sanchez, and his two grandchildren, Laura and Nicholas Acevedo.
Family and friends are invited to attend services and a celebration of life on Thursday, December 26th at Forrest Lawn in Covina Hills. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a mass at 2:30 p.m. The burial will follow immediately after.

Abuelito fue profesor de matemáticas por mas de 25 años y enseñaba algebra, geometrÃa y trigonometrÃa. Fue un padre y esposo amoroso y le encantaba estar con su familia, especialmente sus dos nietos. Le gustaba reÃr y hacer reÃr con su gran sentido de humor. Abuelito le gustaba leer poesÃa, buscar palabras en el diccionario, estar con su familia y cocinar platos Colombianos. Le sobreviven sus sÃes hermanas, varios sobrinos y sobrinas, sus dos hijos, Juan Carlos Acevedo y Angela Sanchez, y sus nietos, Laura y Nicholas Acevedo.
Se les invita a sus servicios fúnebres y a una celebración de vida el jueves, diciembre 26 en Forest Lawn en Covina Hills. El velorio será de 10a.m. a 1p.m. y después una misa a las 2:30p.m. El entierro será después de la misa.
