Antonia Gammad Bautista

Antonia Gammad Bautista, 85, born on January 6, 1930 in Manila, Philippines passed away March 30, 2015. Nonie, as she was fondly called, She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, a major in Home Economics, from the University of the Philippines. After college, Nonie worked as a high school teacher at Torres High School where she met her future husband Eduardo, also an instructor at the same school. The family moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1968. Nonie worked in the cafeteria at Hobart Blvd. Elementary school. Since she majored in Home Economics, any type of kitchen was her comfort zone. Nonie worked her way up as a school cafeteria manager until her retirement from the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1994.
Nonie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eduardo; her children, Edgar, Edwin, Edmund, and Edison; her grandchildren Joni, Evan, Dana, Edward, Michael, Joshua, Philip, Justine, Patrick, sister Anita Gammad Castillon, niece Cora and daughter-in-law Mhargie.
