Antoinette Miller, 94, born on October 24, 1930, passed away January 15, 2025. She resided in La Quinta, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
Antoinette was born in Milan, Italy, and lived with her Father and Mother, Giovanni & Cristina, as well as her brother Sergio and sister Delia. Her family survived the many challenges of World War II and emigrated to the United States in the 1950's. The family settled in Cicero, Illinois while her sister married and moved to South America. Antoinette worked as a bookkeeper and met her husband Robert Charles Miller in the late 1950's, and were married in 1960. They had one child, son Robert Lawrence Miller and moved to La Grange Illinois where they were surrounded by members of both sides of the family. Holidays were always special with festive gatherings with the large extended families.
Antoinette and Robert enjoyed suburban Chicago until Robert retired in 1996 and moved to La Quinta California in 1999 where they enjoyed many years of golf, relaxation and warm sunshine. They both loved their happy home with mountain views and great neighbors. After Robert Charles passed away in 2013 Antoinette stayed in La Quinta and enjoyed her friends, social gatherings in the neighborhood, going to the gym with her trainer, and loved working in her garden. She remained vibrant and independent until the time of her passing. Her neighbors admired her as a "super-ager" and mainstay in the community. She is survived by her son Robert, and her niece Cristina who admired her strength and spirit into her 90's.
Antoinette leaves her family, friends and neighbors with memories of a joyful storyteller with endless tales of her time in Italy, her love of family and events in Chicago and La Quinta, and an ever present intensity to live well. She will be missed and forever loved by all those who knew her.
