Anthony A. Robles, cherished Husband, adored Father, beloved Papa, precious family man and friend passed away on October 2, 2016 after a long fought battle.
Anthony Robles, a true gentleman, was called to be with the Lord but will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.
Anthony was married to his one true love, Linda Robles, on September 30, 1978.
Anthony was born in Los Angeles, California in 1955 to Abelardo (Pete) Robles and Gloria Mae Molina. He spent most of his childhood in Los Angeles until moving to Baldwin Park, California with his parents and his brothers: Edward Robles, Steve Robles, and Randy Robles. Anthony was the oldest of his siblings and was looked at as a role model for his everlasting moral compass and athletic ability.
Anthony went to Bishop Amat Memorial High School, in La Puente, California. He graduated class of 1973. Anthony was always athletic and popular but he will be remembered for much more. He was a leader in the best sense of the word. He was always an advocate for the less fortunate and would stick up for anyone -from his teammates to the kids who needed someone to defend them. He was not a man of flash and glitter, but a man who did the right thing simply because it was the right thing to do.
Growing up, Anthony was not always the biggest nor the fastest, but as it was in the end, he had more fight and will than any other member of his many athletic teams. He was always a leader on and off the field. Through many athletic accolades and achievements, he always remained humble and confident. As Anthony got older, he passed on his unmatched knowledge of sports, especially baseball, to the hundreds of young boys and girls that he coached throughout the years. If ever any athlete was in need of motivation or proper fundamental skills, Anthony Robles was the best guy for the job. Over the countless hours dedicated to passing on his craft for baseball and softball, Anthony became one of the best coaches in the area.
In addition to his love of playing and coaching athletics, Anthony loved to work for a good cause, because he was such a good man. After years of working in the banking industry, Anthony chose his family over fortune and decided to get into the non-profit sector where he could dedicate even more time to helping less fortunate children and families. Anthony worked as an Executive Director for the Rosemead Boys and Girls Club for over 20 years with combined non-profit experience of over 30 years. He truly found his life's passion in helping others. He was an amazing employer, dedicated to the prosperity of those in the community he served.
More than anything, Anthony Robles was a family man. Above all things, he placed his faith in God and loved his wife, daughters, grandsons and extended family. The one thing in life that gave Anthony most joy was seeing the joy on the faces of his family members. Anthony wanted nothing more than to live for his wife, their children and his grand kids. After an extremely long and hard fought battle with illness, Anthony still remained steadfast in his desire to persevere for his family's sake. Anthony was afforded one luxury in his last days; he was surrounded by those most important to him in his own home. He enjoyed his last days free of pain or fear and full of love, faith and gratitude.
Anthony Robles is survived by his loving wife, Linda Pauline Robles; his daughter Powla Noelle Robles (Perez) and Son-in-law Raymond; his daughter Pilar Pauline-Knudsen Robles and Daughter-in-law Charlotte; three grandchildren, Raymond IV, Randy and Ramsey Perez; his mother Gloria Mae Robles; brother Steve Robles and many extending family members. He is preceded by his father, Abelardo (Pete) Robles and brothers Randy and Edward Robles.
