Anna Vee Workman Florez, 72, passed away January 20, 2026. She resided in North Hollywood, CA at the time of her passing.
Anna was born on April 3, 1953 in Provo, Utah, to Cornelius Workman and Phyllis Bench Workman, who raised her with strong values that shaped her life of service, creativity, and devotion to family and faith.
She was blessed to be the fourth of seven children of four sisters and three brothers. She loved to be with them as they played, worked, and sang together. While raising her own family, she made every effort to stay close to them with countless visits to Utah to reconnect with family.
Anna met the love of her life, Mario Florez, while attending BYU. After only a few dates, they knew they were meant to be together and were married on November 7, 1975. Soon after, they began their family. Following the birth of their first child, they moved to California for a new job opportunity, where Anna joyfully welcomed her three boys.
She deeply loved her work as an Educational Office Manager at Van Gogh Elementary School and Hesbey Oaks, where she was known for her dedication, warmth, and genuine care for students, families, and staff. She loved her job, and she took pride in helping others.
Anna served faithfully in her church in many capacities, but her heart was especially drawn to the Primary organization, where she most loved serving as the Primary song leader. With her beautiful singing voice, she taught many children through music, joy, and her testimony of Jesus Christ.
She was a woman of many talents—a lovely writer, endlessly creative, an excellent baker and candy maker whose treats were made with love and generosity. She brought joy to others with her writing of plays and songs. Those who knew Anna will remember her wit, her creativity, her voice, her sense of humor, and the quiet ways she served others.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Mario, and her cherished son, Mark.
She is survived by her children, Laura, John, and Matthew, and her five
grandchildren, Lilly, Jack, Max, Sam, and Luke, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Private services for Anna will be held graveside at Forest Lawn, Glendale. A celebration of life gathering will be held at
