Ann Shimono

Ann-Moyer (Jones) Shimono, 77, born on May 16, 1946, in DeLand, Florida, United States, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2023.  She resided in Cypress, California at the time of her passing.

Ann and her husband, Steven, celebrated 57.5 years of marriage.  Together they raised three children - Tammy (Shimono) Zapotosky, Shawn Shimono, and April Shimono.  Ann leaves behind eleven grandchildren (Vanessa, Christopher, Meganne, Amanda, Sarah, Kylee, Jacob, Amber, Shelby, Brady, and Andrew), and seven great-grandchildren (Zachary, Zoey, Shay, Jaxson, Carson, Kaeden, and Elijah) with a great-granddaughter due in January.

Ann was a veteran of the United States Army holding the rank of Private First Class.  She was a "domestic engineer" since age 21, and continued to look after her great-grandchildren until her passing.  She deeply enjoyed her time at King Elementary School where she assisted in the library; Ann was the recipient of the Cypress PTA Honorary Service Award.

Ann loved the Lord, her sister (Stephanie), her sister-in-law (Katie), large extended family, bible study group, neighbors, and friends.  She was a tremendously kind and generous person, who meant the world to all who knew her.
