Ann Doris Ross

Ann Doris Ross (Banks), 97, of Palm Springs, CA passed away on December 31, 2017. She was born on March 7, 1920 in Imperial, Nebraska to David Banks and Juva Blocker Banks. She celebrated over fifty years of marriage with August Paul Ross, also of Nebraska. Together they had three children, David; Annette (Mason); and Thomas. Ann worked as a beautician and a nurse in Omaha, Nebraska before retiring permanently to Palm Springs where she enjoyed the mountains, spending time with her family, and going shopping at SteinMart. Ann always wanted to see people do well and will be remembered for her feistiness and her resilience. She is preceded in death by her sisters Rowena (Coleman); Verna (Bird); and Jean (Brooks); her husband Augie, daughter Annette and son David. She is survived by son Thomas of Palm Springs, grandchildren Jessica (Pieklo) of Colorado, Katherine (Mason) of Colorado, Daniel (Mason) of Texas, and Susan (King) of Minnesota. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Owen and Olive Pieklo of Colorado and Fiona and Ingrid King of Minnesota. A funeral for Ann will be held on Friday, January 12th, 2018 at 9:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cathedral City, CA, with burial to follow. Ann loved both horses and helping others. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made to Olympia House in Sonoma County, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
