Hampstead, NH: Ann E. (Harrington) Donahue, age 87, a resident of Hampstead since 1977, died on Friday, September 28, 2012, at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home, Fremont, NH.
Born in Cambridge, MA, daughter of the late Maurice and Annie (McCabe) Harrington, she graduated from St. John's High School. Primarily a housewife and homemaker, she was employed as a young woman at a local lumber yard. She was a member of St. Anne's Parish, Hampstead and the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Joseph, Salem, NH.
An avid bowler, she bowled on the Senior Women's league at the Park Place Bowling Lanes in Windham, NH. Mrs. Donahue also enjoyed playing bingo, and was a fan of all New England and Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox.
The widow of the late Randall J. Donahue who died in 1984, she is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Ann E. "Annie"' Donahue of Hampstead, Mary L. Huntley of Sandown, Barbara J. & Earl Clague of Hampstead and Eleanor and Patrick Curry of Hampstead; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas F. and Debra Donahue of Sandown and John W. and Marsha Donahue, of Sandown, a brother, Robert Harrington of Billerica, MA; a sister, Mary Merrill of Bonita Springs, FL; seventeen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Randall J."Buddy"'Donahue, Jr. in 1999 and a grand-daughter Randi A. Huntley in 2010.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. (Plaistow Village), Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at 9:30 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Anne's Church, Hampstead. Burial will take place at a later date in Knollwood Cemetery, Canton, MA.
