Anita Verdugo

Anita Verdugo, 85, of Sun Valley, CA, Saturday September 20, 2025. Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Survived by sons Robert and Michael of Sun Valley, CA; survived by daughter Lorraine and son-in-law Andrew Dodge of Palm Beach, FL; sisters Ramona Higgins of Sun Valley, CA (now resides in Phoenix, AZ) and Katie Aguilar of Phoenix AZ; granddaughters, Alexandra Dodge and Sabrina Dodge, and grandson Hayden Dodge; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Robert Frank Verdugo; sister Isabel Arvizu; parents Inocente and Henrietta Gonzalez. Anita initially attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, CA and transferred in 1957 to the newly constructed John H. Harris Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley. Anita’s class of 1958 was the first graduating class of John H. Harris Polytechnic High School. Anita was also a graduate of Cosmetology School and was co-owner for over twenty years, with her sister Ramona, of ‘Ramona and Anita Beauty Salon.’ Anita was a great mother, sister, aunt, and a friend to everyone, and the kindest lady one may ever meet.
