Anita Ruiz Aguirre

August 25, 1927 — December 2, 2019

Anita "Annie" Aguirre passed away peacefully early Monday morning December 2, 2019. She was born August 25, 1927 in Tulare, California. The daughter of Ruperto and Maria Ruiz. She was the 5th child of seven siblings. She is survived by her two daughters Victoria Espinosa and Sandra O'Donnell (Keith), her grandchildren Brian Perez (Melinda), Shannon Kano (Jon), Jennifer Slater (Mike), Kadie Yzquierdo (Jenna), Keith O'Donnell Jr. (Deanne) and her great-grandchildren Jesi Hoffman (Colbe), Samantha Perez, Keagan O'Donnell, Dustin Slater, Brandon Perez, Jackson O'Donnell, Makena Slater, and Jenna Yzquierdo Jr.

Annie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years Victor Aguirre, her son Ronald Aguirre and her siblings Diego, Josie, Manuel, Margaret and Eddie. Her only surviving sister is Carmen Palacio of Glendale, California. We will always remember her for her devotion to her family and her energetic spirit. She loved her garden and was still dancing every chance she got well into her 80's. She had an adventurous spirit - instead of an 80th birthday party she wanted to fly in a bi-plane to celebrate. That same year she went para-sailing and snorkeling in Hawaii. A few months after her 90th birthday she joined her grandson and family and they flew to New York for a sightseeing adventure. Annie was also blessed to have her devoted companion Riley Campos by her side for 23 years.

A mass in her remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Nativity Catholic Church, 3743 Tyler Ave., El Monte, California. A reception will immediately follow at El Sombrero Restaurant, 3550 Santa Anita Ave., El Monte, California.
