Anibal Jimenez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anibal Jimenez, a beloved husband, father, and friend. Anibal left this world on December 24, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and kindness.

Anibal was born in Guatemala on September 3, 1945, to his loving mother Audelia Jiménez Sazo. From an early age, Anibal had a zest for life that was contagious. He approached every day with a smile on his face and a warm heart that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Anibal had many interests throughout his life, but perhaps none greater than his love for travel. He and his devoted wife Josefina Jimenez explored the world together, creating wonderful memories in every corner of the globe. From ancient ruins to breathtaking landscapes, Anibal embraced the beauty and diversity of different cultures. 

When Anibal wasn't embarking on an adventure, he cherished spending time with his friends and family. His infectious laughter and genuine interest in others made him a true friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His Sunday backyard bbq’s were legendary.  Anibal's kindness knew no bounds, and he always went out of his way to help those in need.

Above all else, Anibal's greatest joy in life was being a devoted husband to Josefina, a loving father to their children and a fun grandfather to his grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with his family: his late son Anibal Jimenez Jr (Kelly Jimenez), daughters Claudia Traver (Joe Traver) and Carla Jimenez Dolence (Michael Dolence), and his grandchildren Joaquin, Elisa, Celeste, Jack, Riley and Aaron.  Their laughter filled their home with warmth and love, creating lasting memories that will be forever cherished.

In celebrating the life of Anibal Jimenez, we invite you to join us for two Funeral Services honoring his memory. The Vigil and Rosary will take place on January 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA, 91724. The funeral mass will be held on January 20, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m., at St. Benedict Catholic Church situated at 1022 West Cleveland Avenue, Montebello, CA, 90640.

Anibal Jimenez's light may have faded from this world, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in our memories. May he rest in eternal peace.
