Grandma Angie Eulogy

Thank you everyone for joining us today to celebrate the life of Angelina Perez Vega.

My name is Yvette Reynoso, I am a daughter to one of Angie's 10 children, Tommy Reynoso, and mother to 3 of her great grandchildren, which at last count I heard was up to 150.

My Grandma Angie was born in Santa Monica, resided right here in Los Angeles and down south in Moreno Valley which is where my memories of her and my Grandpa Augie reside.

Whenever we visited she always greeted us with a smile and a big hug at the front door. During our time together my grandma would give me her full attention, listening to every word and making you feel like you were the most important thing in her world for that moment in time. Angie loved being a mother and grandmother and when you were with her you felt loved. The visits would end with another hug full of warmth as she sent you back out into the world.

My Grandma was the best cook. My personal favorites were her Mole and Tamales, and to this day we are the only family I know that likes to eat our tamales toasted! I attempted to replicate the Mole once a couple years ago & fortunately my Tia Terry came to rescue it. Another influence Grandma has had on the family was our love of the Dodgers. She even spent her last days watching a game on the TV in her room. Our family bleeds dodger blue because of you Grandma.

Angelina Perez Vega was an amazing, strong woman that has inspired me and others to always hold your head high & keep moving forward in life. The pictures we have of her beautiful smooth face, full soft hair & gold earrings will be with us to help as we continue to move forward in our own lives.

In closing, I leave you with one last picture I have of being at my grandma and grandpa's house that for me is symbolic of what a great mother and grandmother she was;
Above their kitchen sink there was a clay painting of a mom dancing with her children with the words that simply read "The dishes can wait."
