September 14, 1951 — February 13, 2022

Angel "Lito" Malana Pedralvez III was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He left this world to join our Creator on February 13, 2022, at the age of 70.
Lito was born to Angel Pedralvez, Sr. and Juliana Diana on September 14, 1951 in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. The youngest of 12 siblings: Consolacion (dec.), Rosario (dec.), Juanita (dec.), Adoracion (dec.), Rodulfo (dec.), Juliana, Ángel Jr., Rómulo (dec.), Luzviminda (dec.), Angelita, and Josephine; his childhood home was always lively and full, on Miguelin Street, in the heart of Sampaloc, Manila. With his father, a Philippine Scout, inducted into the US Army, Lito was born an American citizen and was able to travel to the US and plant roots.
Lito married Alma De Guzman on January 7, 1979 and together they had three children: Melodyanne, Diwata Vida, and Timothy Alan; and four grandchildren: Laila Anne, Dominic Charles, Isaac David, and Violet Skye. Lito and Alma raised their family in Southern California but traveled often abroad, especially back to their home country of the Philippines. With their kids, there were many family trips across the US, especially to Las Vegas and San Francisco. Notably, a 1-month road trip with their kids across the US to Florida and back was one of the most memorable. In recent years, Lito enjoyed many regular Sundays with his grandchildren going on neighborhood walks, watching movies, and cheering on dance parties. He was a proud and loving grandfather.
Lito attended Union High School of Manila (Philippine Christian College) and graduated with Honors in 1968. He remained close with many high school friends, few who became an extension of his own family. Lito then completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines in 1974. With a thirst for knowledge and passion for education, in 1985 Lito obtained an Associate in Science degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, where he taught advanced math and engineering classes as a part-time instructor, as well as became a Licensed Steam Engineer through the County of Los Angeles. Lito retired in 2016 from Kaiser Permanente after 30+ dedicated years of service as a Plant Engineer in the Riverside Medical Center.
Lito enjoyed helping others succeed. He would encourage his friends and family to take opportunities as they came and helped guide those who asked. As a Mason Life Member of the Teodoro M. Kalaw Memorial Lodge No 136, F. & A. M., he was recognized for his life's mission and contributions.
Lito loved to travel and experience life. He loved spending time with family and friends, being the favorite Uncle, and being a "foodie" even before the term "foodie" was even a thing. He philosophized life and faith with friends and knew God in his heart. Lito always lived life to the fullest.
He resided in Riverside, California at the time of his passing. A celebration of life is scheduled for March 13, 2022, followed by funeral services on March 14, 2022, at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, California.
