Andrew “Andy” Velasquez

Andrew “Andy” Velasquez, 62, born on October 11, 1962 passed away at home January 25, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Coachella. His parents are Salvador Velasquez Jr and Jennie Velasquez; Salvador has preceded him in death. He is also survived by his three siblings, Diane (Al) Sandoval, Albert Velasquez, and Paul (Maria D.) Velasquez. He was deeply loved by his extended family, including uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and lifetime friends. He was a graduate of Coachella Valley High School in 1981. He spent 30 years dedicated to his work at Yellow Mart, where he was known for his hard work, loyalty, and kindness. His love for movies and television shows was a big part of who he was; his favorites being Carol Burnett, Matlock, Andy Griffith Show, and The Conjuring. He was a horror movie enthusiast. As a dedicated football fan, he loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys faithfully. He also enjoyed Nascar. A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn in Coachella for the viewing at 5pm-8pm, with a rosary at 6:30pm; following an 8:30am mass on February 26, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
