Andrea Parayno

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrea Totaan Parayno, lovingly known to all as Andring, who departed from this earthly realm on October 8, 2025, in Pomona, California, at the age of 95. Born on October 19, 1929, in Bautista, Pangasinan, Philippines, Andrea lived a remarkable life filled with love, generosity, and dedication.

A devoted elementary school teacher for nearly three decades, Andrea touched the lives of countless students in the Philippines. Her passion for education was evident, and her warmth resonated with everyone she met. It was a testament to her character that her students remembered her with greetings and well-wishes on her birthdays and special occasions, right up to her 96th birthday, which she joyfully celebrated in Heaven with the Lord, her beloved Husband Artemio, her dear Son Artemio Jr. aka Boyet, and all the relatives who have passed before her.

Andrea’s vibrant personality embodied kindness and generosity. She was always ready to share her blessings with family, friends, and neighbors alike. Her hospitality knew no bounds; she welcomed many into her home, often hosting friends and family from out of town for extended stays. Andrea was particularly dedicated to supporting those in need, providing financial assistance to relatives pursuing their education and consistently sharing her blessings with those less fortunate back home in the Philippines.

Beyond her commitment to teaching and helping others, Andrea had a flair for fashion. Described as a fashionista, she found joy in shopping for dresses, shoes, and jewelry, ensuring she always looked her best. Her regular visits to the beauty salon for haircuts, dyes, and manicures/pedicures with her signature red gel nail polish were just a part of what made her feel confident and beautiful. Dining out was another pleasure of hers, with a particular fondness for Filipino and Chinese cuisine, although she could never resist the allure of her favorite Thai dish, Pad Thai.

Andrea’s academic journey was equally inspiring; she graduated from Bayambang Teacher's College, now known as Pangasinan State University, and earned her Master's degree in Education from Far Eastern University in the Philippines. Her commitment to learning extended far beyond her own education, reflecting in her unyielding devotion as an educator.

As a devout Catholic, Andrea’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She amassed a cherished collection of novena booklets dedicated to various saints and shared her generosity with numerous religious organizations, embodying the spirit of giving that defined her very essence.

Andrea leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness that will continue to resonate through her surviving family members: her loving daughters, Dale Posadas, Lilibeth Sison, and Alma Medrano; sons in law, John, Alex and James, her devoted sons, Julius, Melchor, Ramon and Ephraim Parayno; daughters in law, Nelly, Violeta, Bona, Gemma and Gina, along with 22 adoring grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who will forever honor her memory.

The world has lost a remarkable woman, but her spirit will shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we gather to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to our lives, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by her beloved family in Heaven.
