Andre Maurice McKay was born on September 30, 1982, in Los Angeles, California to Doreen Lampert and Franklin McKay. He married the love of his life and best friend, Hannah Stansbury McKay on September 7, 2019. They lived together in West Hills, California, where they shared their lives with their two dogs, Charlie and Tuna.
Andre’s younger years were profoundly shaped by the love and wisdom of his “Granny,” whose guidance and values left a lasting impression on the man he became. His late sister, Danielle, was his best friend and confidante throughout his childhood; they shared countless memories and adventures.
After graduating from Millikan High School In 2001, he moved to Michigan to pursue his college education. He then relocated to Texas, where he began working with startups, before ultimately returning home to California.
Andre devoted the majority of his career to the field of marketing, working across a diverse range of industries - from startups to the NFL - where he played a key role in facilitating business strategies and building brands from the ground up.
In recent years, Andre’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish a thriving business in the home improvement industry, a reflection of his determination and vision.
Those who knew Andre will always remember his quick wit and contagious sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, making everyone he met feel like a lifelong friend. His adventurous spirit drove him to explore the world around him in countless ways. Andre had a deep love for the outdoors and embraced it through snowboarding, camping, beach trips, running and hiking. His love of travel and quest for new experiences enriched his life. Andre’s presence left a permanent mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Andre is survived by his beloved wife, Hannah McKay, his father, Franklin McKay and a large circle of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Andre was preceded in death by his mother, Doreen Lampert; sister, Danielle McKay-Garnica; paternal grandparents, Joseph Delaney and Mamie McKay; maternal grandmother Bernice Novak.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, November 30th 2024, at The Old North Church at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Los Angeles. Doors open at 11:30 am for viewing. Following the memorial service, in accordance with Andre’s wishes, he will be cremated.
