Ana María Toro Medina, born on December 28, 1949, in Chile, passed away July 8, 2020 with her family by her side. She resided in Carson, California at the time of her passing. She was born to the late Mario Antonio Toro and María Prosperina Medina, Dec. 28,1949 in Santiago, Chile. Ana María finished her studies at Instituto Comercial de San Miguel where she studied accounting. She was married to Valentin Fernando Banda Toledo in 1975. She is survived by her husband, children, Boris Banda, Carolina Banda Vaughn and Jocelyn Banda Foster. As well as by her sister Gladys Toro Medina and grandchildren, Caitlin, Sydney, Bryan and Eric. The family lived in Lima, Peru for a couple of years then back to Santiago, Chile where she was very involved in the community. Finally the family settled in Los Angeles, California in 1993. She ran a childcare and was very much loved by the children as well as their families. The families became life long friends. Ana Maria was a wonderful woman, devoted mother, wife and grandmother. She was a strong, hard working, multi-talented woman. She did everything, from designing and sewing clothing, hairstyling, painting, home repairs, knitting, horse riding, cooking and much more. Ana Maria was immensely proud of her family, she leaves behind beautiful memories in the hearts and minds of all that knew her. When her health declined she said " When I die, I will come and visit you as a butterfly"

All Services will take place on July 29th.

Church Service will be at 10am at Holy Family Cathedral. 566 S. Glassell St. Orange, CA. 92866

Interment Service will be at 12:30pm at Forest Lawn- Cypress. 4471 Lincoln Ave. Cypress, CA. 90630

Celebration of Life will be from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Paséa Hotel and Spa. 21080 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA. 92648


Ana María Toro Medina, nacida el 28 de diciembre de 1949 en Chile, falleció el 8 de Julio de 2020 con su familia a su lado. Residía en Carson, California en el momento de su fallecimiento. Nacida de sus Padres que en paz descansen, Mario Antonio Toro y María Prosperina Medina, el 28 de Diciembre de 1949 en Santiago, Chile. Ana María terminó sus estudios en el Instituto Comercial de San Miguel donde estudio contabilidad. Se casó con Valentin Fernando Banda Toledo en 1975. Le sobreviven su esposo, sus tres hijos, Boris Banda, Carolina Banda Vaughn y Jocelyn Banda Foster. Además de su hermana Gladys Toro Medina y sus nietos, Caitlin, Sydney, Bryan y Eric. La familia vivió en Lima, Perú, durante un par de años y luego regresó a Santiago, Chile, donde estuvo muy involucrada en la comunidad. Finalmente, la familia se estableció en Los Ángeles, California, en 1993. Ella se dedico a cuidados infantiles y fue muy querida por los niños y sus familias. Las familias se hicieron amigos de por vida. Ana María era una mujer maravillosa, Madre dedicada, fiel Esposa y Abuelita amada. Era una mujer fuerte, energética, trabajadora y multi talentosa. Sus talentos incluían diseño y fabricación de ropa, estilismo de peluquería, pastelería, equitación, tejidos, cocina y mucho más. Ana María estaba inmensamente orgullosa de su familia, deja hermosos recuerdos en los corazones y las mentes de todos los que la conocieron. Cuando su salud disminuyó, dijo: "Cuando muera, vendré a visitarte como una mariposa".
