Amparo Suarez (Ibias Rodriguez)

Amparo Suárez (née Amparo Ibias Rodriguez) passed away at the age of 100 on February 7^th 2024 in Glendale, California. Amparo was born in Boxo, Pola de Allande, Asturias, Spain on May 25^th, 1923 to Manuel Ibias Martinez and Pilar Rodriguez Rodriguez.  During the early years of her life she lived in Boxo and subsequently lived in Oviedo and Madrid, Spain, prior to relocating to Havana, Cuba in 1958, to marry her childhood sweetheart, Cesar Suarez Lopez and give birth to her only child, Cesar Suarez Ibias. As a result of the Cuban Revolution, the family moved back to Spain in 1968.  After her husband’s death in 1973, she and her son moved to Glendale, California in 1974 where the family has resided for the better part of their lives in the United States. Amparo was a dedicated mother and grandmother; always focused on the well being of her family.  During the latter part of her life she was blessed with the birth of three great grandchildren (born to her late granddaughter Carla).  She is survived by her son Cesar (Montserrat Capdet-Suarez); grandson Mario; and great grandchildren Jordi, Llorenç and Santiago.  

Memorial Services will be held at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills on Saturday, March 9th @ 9:30am at the Church Of The Hills.
