Ammini Simon

Ammini Simon, beloved daughter of the late T.G. George of Pathanapuram, Kerala, went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2026. She lived a faithful life as a humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and passed at a blessed age of 90, in Orange County, California where she resided for the last 38 years. A devoted wife, nurturing mother and grandmother, and dedicated registered nurse, Ammini’s life radiated faith, compassion, and unwavering service to others.

Born in India as the eldest of seven children, Ammini was raised in a Christian home that instilled in her a deep love for God and a heart for helping others. Her early passion for science inspired her to pursue a degree in Nursing, a vocation she approached as both a profession and a ministry.

After marrying Simon C. Varghese, son of the late evangelist C.M. Varghese, in 1965, Ammini embarked on a journey of faith that took her first to New York, where she and Simon built a close-knit community while navigating the challenges of a new country. In 1988, they settled in California, where, by God’s grace, their family flourished and their bonds with neighbors and church members deepened.

Ammini’s professional life was a testament to her calling. Over 25 years, she served as a registered nurse in the medical/surgical wards of Long Beach Naval Hospital, Veterans Affairs Hospital, and Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital near Oceanside. Patients and colleagues alike recognized her gentle presence and sincere empathy—her faith guiding her hands and her words as she comforted the sick and uplifted those in need.

A faithful member of Grace Bible Chapel in Fullerton, Ammini served alongside her husband, who was Deacon and later Elder, dedicating countless hours to church activities, hosting prayer meetings, and providing lodging and support for itinerant preachers and missionaries. These simple acts, rooted in her deep faith, left a lasting impression on all who knew her—transforming daily moments into opportunities for grace and connection. Her generosity, hospitality, and passion for sharing the Gospel touched family, friends, coworkers, and her wider community.

Ammini is survived by her loving children—Anita (Curtis) Strickland, Marsha (Jose) Varghese, Malisa (Viju) Cherian, and her only son, Melvin—as well as nine adoring grandchildren: Christian, Amani, Samir, Julia, Asha, Emily, Rachel, Benjamin, and Jonathan, and great-grandson, Sai. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and service continues through each generation and in the lives of all whom she served.

We remember Ammini Simon not only for her achievements, but for her steadfast devotion to God and her tireless compassion. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and unwavering faith will inspire and guide her family and community for years to come.
