A CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND HONOR
Amelia Estrada, 88, born on December 16, 1936, in Guadalajara, JAL, Mexico, passed away on April 25, 2025. She resided in Anaheim, CA at the time of her passing. She lived her life with love, peace, and laughter. She gave so much love and passed in peace, surrounded by loved ones.
Amelia was the firstborn daughter of Daniel Mora and Maria Teresa Briseňo, the beloved granddaughter of her dear Mamá Mona and Papá Chuy, and beloved niece of her Tío Lino. It was her grandfather who suggested that she be named Amelia, inspired by pilot Amelia Earhart. Papá Chuy wanted his granddaughter to develop courage, ambition, take risks, and have an adventurous spirit.
Amelia would always say that her childhood was one of the most wonderful times of her life. She was very proud to share stories of her niñez with everyone around her. Her smile, laughter, and pride always came through as she relived the moments she lived with her family and loved ones. She was passionate about bullfights and often shared about meeting the great bullfighters of the time in Guadalajara. After their fights at the Plaza de Toros El Progreso everybody, including the matadors, would go to her grandparents’ house for a celebration and meal. She would always share her admiration for Conchita Cintrón,
She shared many adventures that she had with her beloved brother, Pepe, whom she affectionately called “mi manito.” She shared each story with beautiful details and a smile, her laughter making her cry from all the joy. Amelia lived a couple of years in Oakland and San Francisco California, where she celebrated her Sweet Sixteen.
Amelia married the love of her life, su Güero, Florencio Estrada Munoz t, in Guadalajara, JAL, Mexico, and they started their family in the city of Tijuana, Baja California. Soon after, they were joined by her brother and his family. Amelia and Florencio moved to the United States in the seventies, soon after her brother and sister-in-law moved there. They continued to raise their family with love and enjoyed spending time as a family whenever they could. Amelia and Florencio made every place they lived a home for their family and friends, especially on holidays. Unfortunately, Amelia became a widow in 1985, taking on the roles of mother and father for her children at the age of forty-eight.
Amelia enjoyed music, from Trios and Vicente, to the big bands like Glenn Miller. She also enjoyed films, Epoca de Oro del Cine Mexico, American films and foreign movies. She was an avid reader and loved writing. She liked playing "loteria" and was always ready to share how good she was at tiro al blanco.
Amelia’s biggest passion and joy was to provide for her family and to take care of her children and their children at any age. She always had a full house and made it a point to meet every new member of the family and personally welcome them with love and a kiss. One of her love languages was preparing meals for her family, making sure that they had nutritious and organic meals. She would cook each meal while she sang or hummed. She also had the biggest sweet tooth and would never say no to ice cream!
She wrote beautiful verses and poems about her life and loved ones in her libretas. She would find inspiration in the people and moments around her. Above all, she wanted to raise a family that was made up of strong, decent, good human beings with a good education and strong Faith who were happy in life. She taught by example. She was a woman of faith, spiritual, honest, caring, sincere, hard-working, faithful, respectful, and loving. She prayed every day and would mention everyone by name. She had a smile and a twinkle in her eyes that made you feel loved.
Her legacy is all the Love she gave us.

Y a medida que te pasen las horas
Recuerda que Dios dirige tu vida porque lo tienes cerca
