Amanda Holt Nelligan

Amanda Nelligan passed away at home on November 22, 2025. She was born in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and attended Brown University where she received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biochemistry. Her plan was to attend Med School, but she fell in love with movies instead and became the Brown Film Society. She followed her Brown friends to Los Angeles to pursue as career in Film and Entertainment, working as a creative executive at Disney/Touchstone, and as a vice president of development for Mark Johnson and Barry Levinson

Amanda left the film business to get a Masters Degree in clinical psychology, but missed working with film writers and directors, so she started her own business, Scriptgal.com, doing screenplay consultation and analysis. This led to her working as a Story Analyst at both MGM and Netflix.

Amanda enjoyed cooking and was a dedicated baker of deserts and muffins. She loved Cape Cod, particularly biking and walking for miles at low tide in the bay. She also loved hiking, especially with her beloved dogs.

Amanda was predeceased by her mother, Patricia (Flaherty) Nelligan, her father, Edward Nelligan, and her brother, John Nelligan. She leaves behind her ex-husband John Tomko, her sister, Ellen Nelligan (fiancé Don Wiseman), her sister Abbe Nelligan (husband Don Denomme), and her niece and nephew Max and Elizabeth Denomme.

There will be a small service for Amanda in Los Angeles and a remembrance of her life next summer on Cape Cod, where she spent many summers.
