In Loving Memory of Amanda Garcia Lopez

On September 18, 2025, our beloved mother and grandmother, Amanda Garcia Lopez, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 95. She was born on February 6, 1930, in the small town of Santa Rosalía, Mexico. Amanda was the only child of her parents. As a young woman, she came to the United States to begin a new life, where she built her home, raised her family, and created a legacy of love.

In 1986, Amanda gave her life fully to Christ, a decision that shaped the rest of her days. Her faith became the foundation of her strength and the source of her joy. She devoted herself to prayer, to serving her church, and to showing others God’s love through her kindness and generosity.

Amanda was the proud mother of eight children. She leaves behind three daughters who will carry her memory forward, and she is reunited in heaven with her five children who went before her. From being an only child, her family grew to include 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren—each blessed to have known her and to carry a piece of her spirit.

Those who knew Amanda will remember her servant’s heart. She was happiest when she was cooking, whether for her family or for church retreats, where she nourished both body and soul. In her later years, she found joy in painting, attending weekly classes, and even sharing her artwork in a local exhibit. Her creativity, like her faith, was a light to those around her.

Amanda lived a long and beautiful life, defined by her devotion to God and her love for her family. Her faith and her example will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her. Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in the eternal peace she has found in Christ.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." — Proverbs 31:25–26

— Proverbios 31:25–26
