Amalia Betancourt Hernandez
August 24, 1938 - April 8, 2016

Our beloved Amalia passed away on April 8, 2016 in the city of Pomona, CA. She is survived by her sister Mirla Betancourt Garcia, daughters Barbara Leon and Rosa Maria Parra, grandchildren Alain Leon, Andres Leon, Alek Leon, Aeden Leon, Jovani Parra, Sofia Parra, and Alessandra Parra, and her son-in-laws Alain Leon and Juan-Carlos Parra.

Amalia's feisty spirit was known by many and lives on through her children. She loved to be surrounded by others, and despite her trials, she always had a smile. She taught us to push forward and confront life's biggest challenges. Amalia was a woman of faith, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. In her bedroom, you would always find her reading glasses next to her bible. She found peace and perseverance in the words of our Lord.

Here is to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

Strength and honor are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come. (Proverbs 31: 25)

Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised! (Proverbs 31: 30)
