Amado S. Malig

Amado S. Malig, born on September 15, 1926, in Manila, Philippines, passed away on January 9, 2013. He resided in Chino, California at the time of his passing. Arrangements were under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills.

"I'll never forget the day somebody came up to me and asked if I was a frustrated singer," laughed Amado Malig in an interview with local newsletter. He admitted he likes to hum and whistle. Unbeknownst to the Californian who asked, however, Amado has lived music since he was 12, leaving a world of entertainment behind in the Philippines. A well-known singer who appeared over a 30-year span on television, stage, and live radio, Amado preferred old standards and Broadway musicals. He was a frequent guest on television musicals in the 1960s and early 70s.
