Alma Islas

Alma Lee Islas, 84, born April 27, 1939 in Tucson, AZ, passed away on March 26, 2024 in Indio, CA. Preceded in death by her father, Carlos Islas; her mother, Carmen Alcoverde de Islas; and her children, Bettina Zendejas and Victor Fimbres Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Ramon) Alarcón; grandchildren, Raymond Alarcón, Sheyna Alarcón, and Roxanna Zendejas; sister, Carmen Rasmussen; brother, Carlos (Susana) Islas Jr; and nieces and nephews. Alma was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her loving heart. Alma enjoyed being a medical transcriber for many years, as well as working as a paraeducator with special needs students. Visitation will be on April 15, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM, with rosary at 6:00 PM at Forest Lawn Mortuary, Coachella, CA. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, April 16, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Indio, CA. Interment will follow at the Coachella Valley Cemetery, Coachella, CA.
