Obituary

Almita, as you may remember had a contagious laugh and a smile that could brighten any room she entered. She was rowdy, loud and full of vigor. Even at her birth, she entered into this life, late one Friday afternoon on the 21st day of April, 1979, at the Queen of Angels hospital in Los Angeles, after putting her then young mother through a long day of an intense and drawn out labor.

She was a giver, just like her mom, she would take the coat of her back to extend a kind gesture to those she loved and strangers she met. This was evidenced by her desire to pursue her education in the field of nursing and by her desire to always take in and nurse a stray pup or two.

She left us all too soon on the first Monday night of June, 2026, while residing in West Covina, CA.

As we mourn her passing, we remember her as beloved daughter to Ralph and Alma Coll, proud little sister to her one and only brother Ralph, loving mother of Mayra Ruby and Mark Anthony who where at the center of her life, beloved and dotting titi to Maceos and Moises, and as a sister not only in law but also in Christ to Adriana Coll. She was your niece, your cousin, and friend. She brought warmth, kindness, and boundless love to everyone who knew her. Her spirit, laughter, and smile will live on in her children and all who loved her.

She is preceded in the life hereafter by her loving grandparents who helped to raise her, Cuactemoc and Ramoncita Gutierrez.
