Allan Soken

Allan Yeishun Soken, 74, born on April 13, 1951, in Hilo, Hawaii, passed away December 18, 2025. He resided in Los Angeles at the time of his passing.

Allan’s family moved to Los Angeles in 1957. He attended public schools in the city; he then enrolled at California State University, Los Angeles, graduating with a journalism degree.

Allan’s collegiate experience in journalism opened the door to a 30-year operations career in pre-press production at the Los Angeles Times. He held various positions in this department, opting to retire in 2002.

In retirement, Allan devoted more time to the various collegiate and professional sports he enjoyed – baseball, football, horseracing, tennis and track and field events. A loyal supporter of Asian American theater, Allan was a season ticketholder at East West Players.

Allan is predeceased by his parents, George Yoshimasa and Clara Matsue Soken. He is survived by brothers, Howard and Edward (Marianna), and nephew, Bradley, and nieces, Kristina and Rebecca.

A service will be held on March 5, 2026.
