Alicia Lara-Obeso

February 19, 1973 — August 24, 2018

A bright light has faded and the world became a little dimmer. Alicia Lara-Obeso, 45, born on February 19, 1973, in El Centro, California, passed away August 24, 2018. She resided in Coachella, California at the time of her passing. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. Alicia (Ally) had a simplicity for life that surpassed her ordinary smile that could warm up an entire room. She graduated from Central High School in 1992 and attended Imperial Valley College. She worked in various medical offices before moving to Coachella in the late 90's where she continued working in the medical field. Ally was passionate about her fitness: hiking, cycling, mud-runs, marathons for causes, and cross fit. Her passion for baking, especially with her nieces, and her love for family unity will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Jose G. Obeso, son Avian Hernandez, parents Fernando and Evangelina Lara, sisters Lety Lara (Cathedral City, CA), Sonya Din (Kenny) Imperial, CA, brothers Fernando Lara Jr. (El Centro, CA), David Lara (Kelly) Texas, sister in-law Gabrielle Moreno (Frank) Holtville, CA, brother in laws Juan Obeso (Bakersfield, CA), Alex Obeso (Gabriela) San Diego, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.

Private services for viewing will be held for the immediate family. Mass service will be at Our Lady of Soledad, 52525 Oasis Palm Ave, Coachella, CA 92236 on September 7, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by burial at Coachella Valley Public Cemetery. Following the burial a celebration of life for Alicia will be at the church hall of Our Lady of Soledad from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The family would like to thank all those who participated in her journey.
